Wallasea Island again!!

Just a short blog tonight as i am absolutely shattered, surprised ive made it to 9pm tonight but that was partly aided by a chicken pasanda and rice, amongst other things,up at 5am for work so need to get my head down soon.
Visited Canvey Point again today, very brief visit,at low tide this time as i wanted to see what it looked like at low tide, theres a lot of mud!!
I spent the Day with John Jae Attiwell,a fellow local birder from Upminster and we arrived at Canvey around 11.15am.
We only stayed for an hour as we wanted to get to Wallasea Island for raptors but saw a few bits at Canvey.
Great Crested grebes,Cormorants,Single Little Gull, the usual waders,Dunln,Bar & Black Tailed Godwit,Grey Plover,Turnstones,Oystercatcher,Curlew,Redshank to name most if not all of them.
We arrived at Wallasea around 1pm and almost immediately as the rain and cloud cleared we had a Short Eared owl, albeit a brief view.We made our way onto the "Sea " Wall and had distant views of the thousands of waders on the scrape, manly lapwing,a few Redshank and Dunlin,as well as thousands of Brent Geese. In the creeks the other side were small amounts of Teal, the odd Shelduck etc.
We made our way back to the car park and had good close views of Stonechat and then Juvenile Hen Harrier, throughout the afternoon we saw 3 Short Eared Owls,4 Barn Owls,Peregrine,Kestrel,Corn Buntings,Linnets,Reed Buntngs to name a few.
A top,if not windy day out!!!
Have some Pics
