Spring is here

Hello my blog friends.
Sorry for the lack of entries but the computer is still broke,so i am round the olds using theres reporting the interesting and not so interesting.
Since my last visit spring is well under way, with the last two days seeing temperatures around 21c,its like summer here and the temperatures are supposed to stay the same for the next couple of days, its a good time to be out and about.
Tuesday i popped over to the reservoir/fishing lake near the paddocks at the western end of Ingrebourne valley and its the first big numbers of hirundines i have seen with c50 sand martins and 4 house martins over the water along with a single Swallow, couldn't stay for long as i had nipper with me so we popped over Bonnetts for a walk in the pram but after 20 minutes it was apparant she wasnt enjoying herself so we left after seeing another swallow,4 cettis(males) and a green woodpecker.
Yesterday(wednesday) i went back to the paddock/reservoir to see if any had turned up,mainly looking for migrants.I bumped into Graham Thomlinsons mate Andy who asked if i was the Upminster Birder,i replied yes (notoriorty at last). He had seen 2 Green Sandpipers over the Valley, nice birds them sandpipers. We then decided to go over to Bonnetts wood for half hour or so where we had a couple of Male cettis calling, green woodpeckers,herons,2 kestrels and a nice Whitethroat which was my first of the year,Andy had a blackcap but i was too busy on the phone to the Hornchurch chairman talking about our poor run of form of late along with some idiots who support our club that grass on people lol
I went back over early evening for what turned out to be a more productive session, where i had 1 Buzzard,Barn owl,5 Cettis males and i thought i heard a Reed Warbler but after many minutes searching nothing turned up,back over there in a minute to see what will turn up but will have to give it a miss this evening as i have a comittee meeting at the football club.
As for Football,we should be in a play off spot but our inability to score goals is costing us dear as is our inability to defend properly. We are down to 11th but remarkably still only 4 points off the play offs with 5 games to go so it is possible for us to still get in,but we have to win saturday at home to carshalton (if you are not doing anything, come down,i will be on the gate selling the 50/50 tickets) and then away at our rivals Canvey Island,we must win both of those games and see where we are then.
As for work,i have finally been granted my operating licence so i can operate and take my own bookings for the 9 seat(8 passenger) vehicle i have bought,it is a Renault Trafic Passenger Sport and only a few months old so pretty new and very clean,I will be doing Aiport runs, theatre trips,Sporting event, rail transfers and any General cab work with competetive rates. So if you want to use me (please!!!) let me know on 07531 088777 or 07889 273756

Cheers
Rob
