Have probably managed 5 days birding in the last 6 months.Been so busy starting the business up that my birding has had to suffer.
Did manage a trip up to Suffolk with Howard and the Boozy Birders last Sunday,we got to Ness Point Lowestoft at 8am,briefly stopping for a double Sausage and egg mcmuffin meal en route.
On arriving, the sea was rough and a storm was approaching,as i had only had 3 hours sleep due to work i decided to take the opportunity to have a sleep, honest,it was nothing to do with the weather, which i am glad to say picked up after an hour or so.Purple Sandpipers were the order of the day,i saw 3 before i drifted off, then we left for covehithe, where still tired i decided on more sleep but not before i had a single waxwing on a post next to a bush.
We then went to Minsmere,a short stroll to west hide produced marsh tit but little else,a knot was a nice bird as was the usual wildfowl/waders from the hide,we then heard of 7 cranes, which had flew south,so decided to have a look down towards North warren, unfortunatly no cranes but 80 plus white fronts, some tundra bean geese were good compensation. The others all went looking for Owls,i decided on a bit of a rest before driving home, they had a single barn owl.On the way home we had what looked like a Tawny Owl but can't confirm 100%
Should get my lap top back tomorrow after repair which is the main reason for me not updating my blog, hopefully i can keep it working and keep this updated.
Oh and Hornchurch,we lost last night, first defeat in about 12 games and we are currently 3rd,5 points behind billericay but it is close at the top and we have them away on the 27th December, away is where we are best.Big game Saturday 10th,at home to Farnborough in the Trophy.COME ON HORNCHURCH
