After yesterday's damp affair,Saturday proved to be much more pleasant on the essex riviera.
A 5 hour slog maybe wasn't as rewarding in the number of species as Friday but it was a great day out with good views of a few birds.
New on the site for me were 9 pairs of Pintail on the BWA Hide, where there were 2 Marsh Harriers hunting together oer the reedbed, plenty of teal, mallards and Tufted Ducks and a few Snipe over the far bank.Bearded tits were again heard but not seen.A kestrel was hunting over the Marsh and the geese were out in good numbers including the Barnacle geese.
On the sea wall,as the tide was out not too much happening but there were a few lapwing, redshank and curlews feeding and a lone Brent goose was on the river.A Rock Pipit was a nice addition sadly o photograph as it was spooks by me while entering the sea wall path.Plenty of Meadow Pipits though and a nice Reed Bunting as well.
Other news,AFC Hornchurch lost to Eastbourne Borough 1-0 and its raining again.
Photos to be uploaded soon, think I have some better shots of the Marsh Harrier than Fridays although will have to see what they are like on the computer
Nice Pintails Rob,
