Up the Ryman Prem we Go.
Today (well actually yesterday,Tuesday 27th December 2011),is one of my favourite away days as a football fan,this is up there with any trip to shite hart lane with Arsenal,Lens away in the Uefa Cup Semi final,PSG Away in the Cup winners Cup semi final (known as mug a french tout day),for me,Billericay away yesterday was simply awesome.We travelled there 4th in the league,4 points behind "Ricay" with a game in hand,we left there singing Jingle bells and a point behind them with our game in hand still intact.The first half was not much of a spectacle,Ricay play to their strengths,bloke with a long throw,lobs it in,2 central defenders so up,cause havoc and try to score.Don't get me wrong,it would be naive to suggest this is all they have,they have smashed more than a few sides this year but i thought on the whole we played the better football and although they had plenty of possesion,one goal always looked like being enough.
The Away Support from Hornchurch was immense,the best following we have had down at Ricay and i know plenty more who missed it because of the date change.
The rest of the season is going to be a hard slog but we have proved time and time again that we are up to it and all the top sides have to come to us,not vice versa,anyway,next stop Canvey on New years Eve,Can't wait and if we pick up 3 points there we have a massive match on the 2nd against Lowestoft.Good times.
