Worst days Birding ever

Ok,a bit of an exageration but ot far off it.
I got out of my pit not too much before 8am and made my way over to Broadfield Farm as per usual,it was damp, cold and just bloody miserable and didn't really change all day, except for a few showers and the fog to set in late morning, although it didn't get too bad till about 3pm.
I started off by working on the feeding station, adding Mealworms and Fat balls before settling down for the daily Bacon Baguette, obviously on Brown,Cup of the old Darjeeling and a White chocolate cookie for afters.I made my way to the scrape, encountering Magpies, robins and a few overhead finches on the way but nothing else, the scrape had the Green Sandpiper as per norm but nothing else, nothing flying over, absolutely zilch.I went back to the centre briefly and then to the top end for a walk,a flock of around 20 Siskins and a solitary Jay was about all i could muster, along with a single Fieldfare, the Afternoon was saved somewhat by the flock of Long Tailed Tits, now numbering around 15,whizzing about chasing each other and a couple of Goldcrests and Blue Tits with them.I went back to the centre for a while to help them out with the tables for the Christmas fayre at the centre this weekend and by the time we had finished it was 4pm,so i ventured to the top field to look for Barn Owl,a couple of rainshowers later i was soaked through to the skin and on my way home,no chance of an Owl.Back over tomorrow morning early on,then over to watch Hornchurch who have Eastleigh at home,we need 3 points to try to pull us out the bottom 3 before we get stranded down there and without our 2 best strikers i am not too hopeful, but who knows.Arsenal have the other lot from North London,i will refrain from describing them as its not very nice, hate them with a passion.....
