Sandpipers arse

Once again i got up bright and early and made my way to Broadfield Farm, this morning i was meeting,Pete Collins,Dennis Tuck and Ron Colson, making up a quartet of Boozybirders. This is the name of our Birding group which is organised by Howard Vaughan of Rainham Marsh RSPB fame.
It was a bright but very blustery morning and i didn't hold out too much hope of seeing the Bullfinches that the lads were afterbut once in amongst the trees,it was surprisingly warm(ish) and calm.
We looked around for a while, first hearing them call, with what looked like a very short glimpse of their white from behind before finally getting really good views for a minute or so,the lads were chuffed and looking at the birds, its clear to see why,two stunning males, although i only got pictures of one,but happy with them

We then headed to the southerly end of the park, for Goldcrest, more Bullfinches,Redpolls etc but had to make do with 1m & 1f Bullfinch in very brief views,a few Goldfinches were about all else we had.
We then made our way to the cafe where we had a pot of tea each, the lads got stuck into cake while i indulged in sausage sandwich, job done.
From there we visited the scrape, the lads seemed to like the scrape but did point out how untidy it was,i have contacted the Highways agency who are in charge of it but as of yet they have not acknowledged me,despite me telling them how a snipe got tangled in a bit of plastic and was obviously distressed,i sent the e-mail again today, but nothing!!!
On the scrape we had 2 Grey Wagtails,Green Sandpiper and the lads had a Snipe while i was taking pictures of the Sandpiper,oh well, they soon went home and i went back where i had 6 Linnets,so there!!!
I also had a Lesser Redpoll near the visitor centre but cut my visit short as i had to go to work, which is why i am cutting this blog entry short now, work.
More birding tomorrow, plus work and a home game against Hastings tomorrow,a good 7-0 win tomorrow would see us go top,in truth, would settle for a 1-0 win,any win,Come on Hornchurch!!!

Forgot to add, went over to the edge of the ingrebourne, opposite my house.A few weeks back, they cleared some trees and bushes, the result is as below, not sure why they done it but may be interesting to see what turns up,what do you think??????
